Convert AVCHD/MTS, M2TS files for edit in Adobe Premiere Pro
Posted by admin in DVD to MPEG Converter on March 30, 2010
Have you ever shot some footages for making a short film, only to find the Adobe Premiere prefer not to edit M2TS files natively? One of my friends, who had been trying to make a film, encountered such problem when he shot HD video with his new JVC GZ-H900. I believe AVCHD camcorders usually record HD video as MTS file, which will be M2TS when transferred to PC, while video editing applications such as Adobe Premiere Pro and Sony Vegas, refuse to edit the M2TS files. So the best bet is to convert the AVCHD (M2TS file) to a format that Premier will support and then proceed from there. Now, which conversion program works well and doesn’t lose much quality of the video? I recommend Pavtube MTS/ M2TS Converter for the following advanced features:
- Versatile output formats including MOV (AVC), WMV (VC-1), MPEG-2 and DV AVI
- Works well and with fast converting speed
- Convert with lossless quality when apply correct settings
- Advanced parameters (Bitrates, Frame rates, Size etc) adjustable
- 5.1 Channels available (MOV)
Here is an easy guide to brief the converting flow. The MTS/ M2TS Converter can convert files in batch so you may import all that you would like to convert.

or http://en.wikipedia.org/ can help you !
- Install Pavtube MTS/ M2TS Converter
- Run the converter, and click Add to load the M2TS files.
- Specify output format and folder. Click on the Format bar and find Adobe Premiere/ Sony Vegas, then choose a format from the list.
- Click Convert to start. You may observe the converting progress from a popup panel.
Interlaced M2TS video may display aliasing distortion and combing effect. In that case you can activate Deinterlacing function by stepping through Edit-> Effect-> Deinterlacing. (Tip: To set advanced video and audio parameter, please click the Settings button.)

How to play Blu-ray ISO backups on WD TV Live
Posted by admin in DVD to MPEG Converter on March 29, 2010

To play Blu-ray ISO backups on your WD TV Live, one thing you should know is that WD TV Live can well play ISO files from a USB drive, while network shares do have problems actually.
In order to get an ISO backup, what’s your workflow? As all I know, some people use tsMuxeR to back up the Blu-ray disc, and then converted it into an ISO using Daemon Tools. Personally, I use Pavtube Blu-ray Copy to make ISO backups for my Blu-ray discs.
or http://en.wikipedia.org/ can help you !
Within several clicks, this program can finish its task, and enables you to get an ISO image file. What you should do is just loading your BD files via “Source” option, and then choose “Image File (*.ISO)” from the pull down menu of “Target” to specify the destination folder. BTW, you’d better indicate your USB drive as the save path, or you need spend time to copy the ISO image to your USB drive repeatedly. Once the two steps finished, the backup process will begin, and then you just need wait for the resulted ISO files for your WD TV Live.

As long as copying task is completed, plug the USB into your WD TV, and connect it to your HDTV via HDMI cable, what you should do next is enjoying your BD movies on your widescreen TV leisurely.
One more thing I should mention is that some users have problems to play Blu-ray ISO files via their WD TV, but DVD ISO is working well. Not clear about the accurate reason, but another solution can be recommended. Since WD TV is able to beautifully playback HD MKV files up to Full HD 1080p, thus we just need a utility to convert BD files to HD MKV, and then everything will be OK. Because of the Blu-ray copyright issues, some discs are highly protected, we must take advantage of a powerful application to do so. In that case, the following Blu-ray ripper is suggested, it is able to remove nearly all kinds of BD protections, including BD+, AACS, and even MKB Version > 10 is supported as well.
This Blu-ray ripper allows users exporting “MKV HD Video (*.mkv)” format, and also enables users to reset audio and video parameters via clicking “Settings” button. You can set the resolution at 1920*1080 to remain 1080p quality of your Blu-ray movies, as well as keep 5.1 channel of the original surround sound. All in all, all the parameters like bit rate, codec name, frame rate, sample rate are all changeable in the following interface.

After your preferred settings for your WD TV have been set well, just click “Convert” button to start conversion. Once finished, you can watch them on your TV via WD TV with ease, and the high quality of the Blu-ray movie has never been changed at all.
Is this helpful? Hope it is.

Take the place of Elgato Turbo.264 – Convert copy-protected DVDs on Mac without audio and video out of sync issues
Posted by admin in DVD to MPEG Converter on March 28, 2010

To convert HD camcorder clips and other videos to a format that can be played on an iPod, iPhone, Apple TV and shared on the web, some Mac users have purchased the not cheap Elgato Turbo.264 HD Video Encoder to realize their format conversion goals. Turbo.264 HD is not only an encoder, but also an accelerator to convert all popular video formats (including HD camcorder video) to a high-quality H.264 file in standard or HD resolutions. It is incredibly fast and comes with an easy-to-use software application.
Everything seems good, but when it comes to deal with copy-protected DVDs, it usually gives users CSS errors, because it can only convert DVDs that are not copy-protected. Aside from the copyright issues, according to some users’ review, Turbo.264 HD has one worse problem that sometimes the exported files are all out of sync. We can have a look at some reviews on this point together. Written by PF from Ventura, 5-Nov-2009: “This product is a joke … most of the files generated using this product have audio that is completely out of sync and are unwatchable”; Written by AM from San Jose, 16-Nov-2009: “This product does exactly what it says on the box; it makes Apple TV format movies in a very short time. The issue is they’re unwatchable. I’ve ripped 15 movies in the last 10 hours, and not one of them has the audio in sync with the image.”
Well, how to fix the two problems? At this time, change your eyes on another affordable program would be a better choice. Absolutely, Pavtube DVD Ripper for Mac is for you to give solutions to the two problems.
or http://en.wikipedia.org/ can help you !
Pavtube DVD Ripper for Mac is able to read all copy- protected DVDs from DVD ROM, DVD Folder, or IFO/ISO image files directly, and rip VIDEO_TS folders to playback on popular multimedia players like iPhone, iPod, PSP, PS3, Apple TV, etc. The output format is wide ranging from MP4, 3GP, AVI, MPG, MPEG-4, FLV, MOV, 3G2, VOB, MP3, FLAC, MKA, OGG, WAV, AC3, M4A, etc. to HD video up to 1080p. Play Blu-ray movie with HDTV DVD Combo – Burning Blu-ray to DVD
Posted by admin in DVD to MPEG Converter on March 22, 2010

HDTV DVD Combo features a built-in slot-loading DVD player, which provides an optimum way to save space. With the slim profile, it’s really an amazing experience to watch favorites TV shows and DVD movies on this device in your bedroom. But if your TV only has a standard DVD player but not the Blu-ray disc player, what is your solution to play Blu-ray movies on it? I’d like to know your ideas. I believe my way is somewhat helpful, just convert BD to a DVD format, and then burn it to a blank DVD for playback on the TV/DVD Combo, so share it here, and also be glad to hearing from you guys.
The software I used is as below:
- ReJig (freeware)
or http://en.wikipedia.org/ can help you !
- ImgBurn (freeware)
HOW-TO:
Part 1:
Firstly, use Pavtube Blu-Ray Ripper to remove copy protections of Blu-ray movies, and meanwhile convert it to the DVD vob format.
1. Run Pavtube Blu-Ray Ripper and click “DVD Rom”, “DVD Folder” or “IFO/ISO” to load Blu-ray movies. Generally speaking, the file with the longest duration time would be the main movie, if you just need back up the main movie, tick off this one only.
Each file will be checked by default after imported, right click on any one of the files, and then there will be a popup window to let you uncheck all, just do it, and afterwards to tick off the checkbox before the file you need converted.

2. Click on the drop-down menus after “Subtitle” and “Audio” respectively to select your required languages and sound effect.
3. Select VOB as output format and specify destination folder
Click on the pull down list of “Format” to select VOB as output format and click on the folder icon at the opposite side of “Output” to specify destination folder.

4. Customize output settings
The popup window will allow you to adjust audio and video parameters including codec, bit rate, aspect ratio, frame rate, sample rate, and audio channels to optimize the output file quality.

5. Click on “Convert” button to start BD ripping
Once finished, you can find out the output files via clicking on “Open” button with ease.
Part 2:
Then use ReJig to do DVD authoring.

It’s pretty simple with ReJig. Press “File Mode”; add your vob files and Demux.

When it’s finished, close that box and then select DVD Author. Add the video and audio files you’ve just created, and choose output destination folder, and click Create.

After DVD authoring is completed, you can open the destination folder to see that the output files are AUDIO-TS and VIDEO-TS folders, which are the correct structure for DVD burning.

Part 3:
Use ImgBurn to burn DVD
We have got VIDEO-TS folder in part two, so the DVD burning process with ImgBurn is pretty simple. Here give you two links to check the detailed steps:
How to write DVD Video files directly to single layer media using ImgBurn (DVD±R/RW)
How to write a DVD Video double layer disc using ImgBurn (Verbatim DVD+R DL) – just check the contents that start from adding VIDEO-TS folder of this guide.
